Bilingual Samurai
Bilingual Samurai is the fast one — a clock, decoy tiles, and an order you have to get right. Most questions are about lives, the unlock, and Game Center.

Purchases
The Bedroom stage is free, with no time limit on how long you can play it.
One single purchase unlocks the remaining four stages together — Park, Classroom, Sky and Space. It is paid once and never renews.
There are no ads, no subscriptions, and no consumable currency to buy.
Restore a purchase
Purchases are tied to your Apple Account, not to your device. If you've changed phone, deleted and reinstalled the app, or set up a new device, restoring brings everything back at no extra cost.
- 1Open Bilingual Samurai and play until the unlock screen appears, or tap a locked stage to bring it up.
- 2Tap Restore Purchases on that screen.
- 3Wait for the confirmation — the locked stages open as soon as it completes.
Restoring only works while signed in to the same Apple Account that made the original purchase. If nothing comes back, check which account is signed in under Settings → your name, then try again.
Common questions
I bought the unlock, but the stages are still locked.
Use Restore Purchases on the unlock screen. This is almost always a new device or a reinstall, and restoring fixes it in a few seconds. If it doesn't, check that the device is signed in to the Apple Account that made the purchase — a family member's account is the usual culprit.
What's the difference between the three directions?
English → Japanese shows you an English word and asks you to slice the kana that spell it. Japanese → English does the reverse. Mixed alternates between them at random, which is much harder because you can't settle into one script. You can change direction any time from the main menu.
I lost a life and I don't think I sliced anything wrong.
Order counts. Slicing a tile you do need, but earlier than its turn, costs a life just like slicing a decoy does. If the blade passes through two tiles in one swipe, both register — short, deliberate swipes are safer than long ones.
Is Game Center required?
No. It's entirely optional and the game plays the same without it. If you do sign in, your best score is posted to a leaderboard — that's handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy, not by us. We never see a name or an ID.
How do the power-ups work?
Whetstone doubles your score for a short time, Incense slows every tile on screen so you can line up a precise slice, and Fan nudges the tile you need next toward your blade. They appear during play — slice them like any other tile.
The words are too hard for my child.
Try Bilingual Samurai's Bedroom stage in whichever direction is their stronger language first, so the reading is the only new part. If the clock itself is the problem rather than the vocabulary, Drive Go Go has no timer at all and is a better starting point.
If something goes wrong
- 1Close the app fully — swipe up from the bottom of the screen and flick the app away — then open it again.
- 2Restart the device. This clears up most graphics and audio problems on its own.
- 3Check the App Store for an update; we ship fixes there first.
- 4If the screen is black or the game won't start after an update, delete and reinstall. Purchases come back with Restore; stage progress is stored on the device and will be lost, so try the other steps first.
